Final-year female student found dead after being paid N15,000 to act as girlfriend.
A 21-year-old final-year student at the Kwara State College of Health Technology, Offa, who was reportedly paid N15,000 to act as a girlfriend, has been found dead in a refuse site three weeks after celebrating her sign-out.
The student identified as Awesu Mojisola Oluwafunmike had gone missing on August 9, 2024, shortly after posting photos and videos of her sign-out ceremony on social media.
Reports indicate that Mojisola received a phone call from one Miss Timileyin, who informed her about an event organized by students from Summit University and Al-Hikmah University in Ilorin.
Through this introduction, Mojisola was connected with Mr. Adebayo Happiness, a student of Summit University, who allegedly invited her to attend a night party, promising her a payment of Fifteen Thousand Naira (#15,000.00) to act as his girlfriend
Upon arriving in Ilorin, Mojisola reportedly informed her roommate, Miss Blessing O, that she felt uneasy in the hotel where Mr. Happiness had lodged her, and she noted that no party was taking place at the venue.
Shortly after this communication, Mojisola’s phone was switched off, and all efforts by her roommate to reach her proved futile.
The situation took a devastating turn when, on August 11, 2024, a group of laborers discovered Mojisola’s body at a refuse site near the Aleniboro area in Ilorin, Kwara State.
The following day, August 12, Mr. Olorunoje, a resident of the area, reported the discovery to the police after being informed by the laborers.
According to the spokesperson of the Kwara State Police Command, DSP Toun Ejire-Adeyemi, a team of detectives was immediately dispatched to the scene following the report.
The scene was examined and photographed, with investigators noting traces of blood near the left ear of the deceased.
Shockingly, the body was later identified as that of Mojisola Awesu Oluwafunmike.
Prof Anifowose Olamilekan, a lecturer at Kwara State College of Health Technology, also revealed that Mojisola’s mother works as a cleaner with the Ogun State Waste Management Agency.
