Singer Davido reacts to reports of him receiving $10m (N17bn) to perform at a wedding in India
Popular Nigerian singer David Adeleke, professionally known as Davido, has addressed rumors claiming that he was paid $10 million to perform at a royal wedding in India.
This came after the news reported that the singer will be performing at the royal wedding of Indian media personality Alkesh Thavrani and his beloved lover, Sheetal Mazda, which will take place in Udaipur, India. It was known that Davido received $10 million (approximately N17bn) for the event.
After the news went viral online, Davido took to his Instagram story as he denied the reports. He jokingly tagged the groom’s handle asking for his balance, implying that he did not get up to the amount going viral on social media.
He wrote, “@AlkeshThavrani, wer my balance.
The ‘Unavailable’ crooner also revealed that he had received his performance fees from the groom.
He wrote, “@AlkeshThavrani received 2025 go hear am. I need Indian passport.”
