Nigerian entrepreneur and influencer Laura Ikeji Kanu is celebrating her daughter, Chanel, on her first birthday today, December 29, 2025.
Sharing adorable photos of the toddler on her Instagram page, Laura described Chanel as the most fascinating child in her life, humorously noting that she behaves like a 15-year-old. She went on to gush about her daughter’s amazing personality and reaffirmed her deep love for her little one.
“Happy birthday, Chanel, my baby is 1. One of the most interesting kids in my life. Chanel acts like she’s 15 already. Such an amazing kid. I love u, my daughter, we love u. Keep being amazing”.
Last week, Laura had stirred reactions with her family photos. The younger sister of Linda Ikeji shared a video of her and her kids and noticeably missing from the family photoshoot was her husband, Ogbonna Kanu. In her caption, Laura penned a heartfelt note to God as she described herself as a lucky woman and noted how she doesn’t deserve God’s blessings. Laura went on to thank God for her life and that of her kids, but failed to mention her husband.
Recall that Laura and Ogbonna tied the knot in holy matrimony at a traditional wedding that took place in her home town in Nkwerre LGA, of Imo state, in January, 217.
In 2022, Laura had celebrated Christmas without her husband. While sharing photos from the family’s yearly Christmas shoot, she revealed that this would mark her first Christmas without her husband who was overseas working. She, however, hoped that next year, it would be a complete family.
On an episode of The Real Housewives of Lagos, Laura caused a stir online as she revealed that her husband cheated on her with her best friend. However, this was when they were still dating.
We are sure there is no cause for alarm as just recently, Laura shared some insights on what it feels like to be a parent taking care of a little baby. She revealed that her and her husband , do not sleep until 3-4am every single day because they both take turns in caring for their new baby. She also further questioned how he was still able to get up every morning to go to the gym, despite sleeping so late.
